I bought the star from Kirkland's. I knew that I would do something with it I just didn't know what. I figured later on I would tie all the colors together by giving this star a coat of paint.
We had some Kilz left over. I used that cause the wood color was black and I was putting a dark color on it. I wanted the red to be vibrant. I taped up all the parts that would stay unpainted and coated it with the Kilz.
The color required two coats. I used Behr's Strawberry Daiquiri. I coated the whole thing once and let it dry and then another coat.
I pulled all the tape off and gave it an inspection. I should have used the real painter's tape instead of masking but whatever I think it looks good. Of course we have since painted this room and I am not sure if the color matches well.
